How to upload images, GIFs, and videos
Currently, Twitter supports JPEG, GIF, PNG and video files and limits the amount of images to 4 per tweet. You can not add a GIF to a tweet with an image. Only one GIF or a video can be added to a tweet at once.
Adding images
There is a number of ways of adding content to your tweets.
In the editor, click on the text part you want to add content to. Then in the toolbar click Upload and then select a file or a number of files you want to add from your computer. Once the upload is done, the files will be attached to a corresponding tweet in the selected order file by file.
Via drag & drop
You can either click on the text part in the editor you want to add content to or directly drag and drop a file or a number of files into a tweet. The files will be appended to the corresponding tweet - a dark-blue drop bar will indicate the position of the added media.
Via copy-paste
Copy an image via pressing ctrl + c (PC) or cmd + c (Mac). In the editor, click on the text you want to add content to and then press ctrl + v (PC) or cmd + v (Mac).
Via a URL
From the toolbar click a down-facing arrow near the Upload button and then Upload from URL. Then input a URL of a video or an image to upload.
Via the preview section
From the preview section, click a ‘+’ icon of a tweet and then Upload and select a file or a number of files you want to add from your computer.
Arranging images
Images can be rearranged or moved to a different tweet from the thread preview by drag and drop. You will see a dark-blue drop-bar indicating a new position of the image.
Adding Alt text
You can add an alt-text to make media more accessible. A description can be added by hovering over the file and then clicking Alt text.
Adding GIFs
You can add a reaction, meme, or a funny card from the Giphy library to give extra power to your tweets. From the preview section, click a ‘+’ icon of a tweet and then Search GIF.
